WAYS TO SERVE
We believe all Christians are called to serve others in love and grace in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Beyond the practical value of helping others, volunteers gain spiritual development and deepened friendships.

SERVE IN WORSHIP SERVICES
Acolytes. These non-clergy altar assistants ages 12 and up tend the altar candles, carry the processional cross and Gospel book, and assist ushers with the offering plates.
Audio/Visual (A/V) Team. Training is provided for sound system operations, creating slide presentations, projecting lyrics and videos, and operating cameras for live-streaming the services.
Eucharistic Minister. A non-clergy participant who serves as a Reader of the Epistle, presents the Prayers of the People, and assists in serving Communion at the altar. Visiting EM’s bring Communion elements to the homebound.
Music. Members of the Choir and Praise Bands lead the music in services and perform special musical offerings at various times during the services.
Prayer Intercessor Team. Prayer team members are available after each Sunday service to assist all who seek prayer for any reason. We maintain vows of confidentiality and follow the Holy Spirit’s lead as we seek the Lord’s will for each need.
Welcome Team/Greeters. Welcome team members are enormously important to the church as they are often the first people to greet visitors. A pleasant nature and a love for people are the major requirements.
Ushers. Ushers are of vital importance to the church service by assisting people with seating, collecting the offerings and helping in other ways during the service.
SERVE BEHIND THE SCENES
Altar Guild. Members of this team care for the vestments and sacred vessels used in each service and prepare the altar and elements used for Communion.
Childcare Ministry. Our volunteers serve on rotation in the nursery and Sunday School classes year-round.
Coffee Bar. This team ensures we have fresh, delicious coffee available on Sunday mornings and the hosts/hostesses help with set-up, clean-up and inventory.
Flower Ministry. This creative team uses the flowers from the weekly altar flower arrangements to create smaller floral gifts taken to the homebound, sick, or ones celebrating milestones.
Hospitality Ministry. This team of volunteers helps to plan and set up special events and tends to the details of decorating, menu-planning, food service, and hosting the event.
Office Receptionists. A small team of volunteers assists our administrative staff on weekday mornings by answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and helping with small office projects.
SHEPHERDING
Driving Hands. Safe drivers are needed to assist those who cannot get to church, our special events, or even doctor appointments.
Helping Hands. Volunteers help those who may not think to ask for help, often delivering a meal to the sick or grieving, or running errands for those who cannot do so. Sometimes helping hands are needed to help members with basic household repairs or maintenance.
